The right firmness depends on your primary sleep position. Stomach sleepers need soft/low loft to keep the neck neutral. Back sleepers do best with medium support. Side sleepers need firm/high loft to bridge the shoulder gap. If you change positions frequently, medium density offers the best all-around compromise. The shell is the fabric you actually feel against your skin and pillowcase. Cotton is naturally breathable, wicks moisture, and gets softer with each wash. Unlike polyester covers that trap heat and create static, cotton allows air to circulate freely through the fill, helping the pillow's temperature regulation work as designed.

Machine wash on a gentle cycle with warm water and mild detergent. Wash two pillows together to balance the machine load. Tumble dry on low heat, adding clean tennis balls or wool dryer balls to prevent clumping and restore loft. Pillows should be washed every 3-6 months and replaced every 1-2 years for optimal hygiene and support.
